June 2016 in Retrospect

I haven’t done one of my monthly wrap-ups in a while. Possibly because I haven’t been posting as much as I used to; my month’s posts tend to all stay on the same page now, rather than needing much scrolling or clicking back entries. But sometimes it’s still nice to look back on what I did in a month and feel accomplished, so that’s what I’m going to get back into doing.

Reviews

Stories of the Raksura: Volume 1, by Martha Wells
Otherbound, by Corinne Duyvis
Sea of Shadows, by Kelley Armstrong
Summer, Fireworks, and my Corpse, by Otsuichi
Saint’s Blood, by Sebastien de Castell

Other Posts

The first batch of SPFBO books that didn’t make it past my initial 3-chapter chance, plus a batch of books that also didn’t, but that I’m holding in reserve for later because I still wanted to see what happens in them.

So only 7 posts in June, but eh, between 2 weeks of a cat being sick and otherwise trying to stick to this kind of easy post schedule anyway, I think I came out on top, all things considered.

Next Month

I want to try for the usual 4 reviews. I have more of an article-type post in the making, too, and I’d like to make sure at least one of the remaining SPFBO books gets a read and review, in addition to the usual 4.
