A new home

My first post on the WordPress version of Bibliotropic. It feels like getting a fresh start without having to abandon or redo everything I’ve done so far. I like it.

Why have I moved my blog here? Well, I’ve been using WordPress for another blog of mine for a little while now, and ultimately, I found that I liked it better than Blogger, which is where this blog previously was. It’s not a lot more in the way of flexibility and layout options, for one thing, has a much more efficient way of reaching potential new readers, and in general, I just like it better. One of the biggest reasons I stayed at Blogger for so long no longer really applies to me, so I felt it was time to make the transition.

I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me here. First of all, I have to go and replace a while load of images that were previously on the old blog. And fix all the links. And do some design work. And figure out if I can properly get the old URL to just direct straight to this blog (I’m doubting it at this point, so I might just have to let the old domain name expire and the reregister it to direct to here instead). Things are going to be messy for a little while as I get things really moving. But overall, I think it was a change for the better.

And now I think it’s time for a housewarming party. Everyone should drop on by and bring cake!
