This week’s book haul is gigantic! Honestly, just in this week alone I probably received enough books to see me through until the end of the month, if need be.
It was only thank to Graeme’s Fantasy Book Review that I managed to acquire a copy of The Postmortal. I’d entered his giveaway for it, and got an email that said he normally excludes bookbloggers from his giveaways (with good reason; bookbloggers tend to have access to more books than those who don’t do reviews, and he wanted the chance to let others have their turn, which makes complete sense to me), but was willing to introduce me to the person at Penguin who helped him get his copy. Less than a week later, this book was delivered right to my door. I greatly appreciate the help he gave me on this!
These two books I got courtesy of Lee & Low Books, via NetGalley.
These ones are thanks to ChiZine Publications
Also thanks to ChiZine, David Nickle’s Monstrous Affections is notable not only for having a rather disturbing cover, but also for being written before Eutopia (review here), so more than half of me wonders if this might not contain some information that would go a long way to answering some of the questions I had at the end of Eutopia. I really do hope so; one of the reasons that Eutopia didn’t rate higher with me is because of some of the unanswered questions I had at the end of the book. So, fingers crossed that I get my explanation!
In addition to an e-copy of Tommy Nightmare, I also won an e-copy of Jenny Pox. I’d already bought a copy of Jenny Pox when it was on sale at Amazon.ca for $0.99, however. But now I also have the sequel, and more than that, I legally have 2 copies of the book, and you all know what that means. Giveaway time! The contest post will go up in a day or so, so you can all have a chance to get yourselves a copy of the first book in the series. (Thanks to Bewitched Bookworms for hosting the giveaway in the first place!)
It’s thanks to Lendle that I got a copy of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. Granted, I don’t get to keep this on my Kindle for any longer than 2 weeks, but that’s more than long enough to read it. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this book, and I’m hoping that they hold true!
So that’s my haul for the week. Way too many books, and not enough time in which to read them. They still all look great, and I’m excited to read them, and to host that giveaway in a few days!
So, what did you all find in your mailboxes this past week?
