No disrespect to the fantastic Adam Rippon or Mirai Nagasu, but Team USA's star power was windswept a bit tonight for NBC's prime-time, as extreme weather hit the pause button on skier Mikaela Shiffrin's debut at the XXIII Winter Olympics.
"There's a lot to deal with in her position with the start she had to the season and just how dominant she was", NBC analyst Bode Miller said.
She gathered herself and offered an explanation that went like this: She was exhausted.
"[It] doesn't feel like it's changed me at all", Shiffrin said.

Olympics: US ski star Shiffrin adjusts her schedule
It's the third time in four days an alpine skiing race was shelved because gusts made it too unsafe for competition. It marks the third time in the opening four days of the Games here that an Alpine skiing event has been postponed.
The 2013 world championships in Schladming, Austria, marked the first time Shiffrin went to a major event leading the World Cup slalom standings.
How many more races after that? Since that string of podium appearance, she's had five races, finishing no higher than seventh.
Who could threaten Rebensburg's shot at a second Olympic giant slalom gold? "I'm feeling much better, much more like myself".
The women's giant slalom, which will take place at Yongpyong, was moved to Thursday with an earlier start time to allow a window for the men's downhill, which was postponed on Sunday. "I'm not sure how, if I'm going to actually have the energy to do that".
Ireland Seal Six Nations Bonus Point By Half
Stockdale soon had his second and Ireland's eighth before Italy grabbed a third late on through Matteo Minozzi . Now early in the second-half Robbie Henshaw has been forced off with what appears to be a really serious injury.
"You're insane", Shiffrin replied.
She couldn't help but laugh when a reporter asked what her reaction is to being compared with Michael Phelps, the US swimmer who is the most decorated Olympian in history.
According to the Associated Press, Shiffrin laughed when a reporter asked Saturday about a comparison to Phelps, the swimmer raised in Rodgers Forge.
Actually, Phelps' haul is 23 golds - and 28 medals in all. Shiffrin could match the individual medals over the next week or so. "It's extremely flattering, but.it's apples and oranges".
