The English police services are now investigating an incident in Britain's parliament on Tuesday where a suspicious package had been found, MailOnline news website reported, citing witnesses.

'The letter contained a white powder which is presently being evaluated by pros.

'Investigators from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command have been educated and are researching'.

Previously, a House of Commons Spokesperson commented on the situation, saying that the Police were investigating an incident on the Parliamentary Estate, without providing any further details.

The corridor in which the item was discovered is underneath the House Of Commons chamber and several offices for ministers, as well as conference rooms.
