He drove 11 hours from his New Mexico home to Austin, to confront the couple.
Christopher Giles, 23, was familiar with the Austin couple - Gavin Free and Megan Turney - due to their YouTube fame, according to the warrant, which is based on information from the Albuquerque and Austin police departments. When he couldn't locate them, Giles reportedly returned to his vehicle, but as he was backing out of the home's driveway, officers with the Austin Police Department arrived.
When Austin Police Officers arrived at the address, they saw a dark colored Lincoln sedan back out of the driveway before a shot was sacked from inside.
On Monday, the YouTubers expressed gratitude to their fans for their support and the Austin Police Department for their fast response to the emergency.

It was reported that Giles had "developed a fondness" for Ms Turney, but disliked her boyfriend Mr Free.
The search warrant also revealed notes Giles wrote in his phone that provided more insight into his motives. The couple hid in their closet and stayed on the line with dispatchers.
Giles broke into the couple's Texas home early on January 26 after shooting out the glass in a door. One of the officers, identified in the Austin American-Statesman as Officer Matthew Jackson, fired back.
Instead, they said, he fired his gun.
The police found a.45 caliber handgun near his hand.

Turney and Free both gained fame making videos for YouTube - many of them video game-related - and both have worked at the Austin-based media company Rooster Teeth Productions.
Nothing was stolen from the couple's house, the warrant says. His phone was full of notes centering on Turney, whose YouTube videos run the gamut from relationship advice to online gaming to her popular "Ask Meg" segment.
Meg also thanks the Austin Police "for their quick response" and "ongoing support during this hard time".
